A Preview & Announcement

I have had a lot of people ask me if I offer a package for "My Baby's First Year." I have never set up a package like this before but I am excited to announce that I am working on one!

This package would include a newborn session, 3 month photos, 6 month photos, and one year photos. It will include bulk discounts based on four sessions. A maternity session may also be included or substituted. Please e-mail me if you are interested in more information about this package (for some reason my blog won't allow anyone to comment at this time).

AND....Since I am SO SICK of this blog, I am currently in the process of designing a new one! I can't wait to say goodbye to this boring blog!

Today was quite the adventure! I hiked up the mountain with my camera, stood in freezing cold water, and enjoyed taking a groomal session of this cute couple! I have been trying to fix the quality of the photo for about two hours now and I am not sure why it looks so grainy on the blog. It doesn't look like that on my computer. Any suggestions why?

Again, I am not sure why these photos look so grainy, but this is one of my favorite shoe photos! I love shoes and I wish I was the proud owner of these ones...

I have just started to edit these pictures of my cousin. I feel bad because my family always gets put on the back burner when it comes to getting their pictures edited. Someday I will get everyone in my family their pictures. My sister said today, "Do you have my wedding pictures yet?" I am sure you can guess what my answer was....

Someday my family will get all their pictures. Someday I will be caught up. Someday maybe I will be able to edit and post photos of my own kiddos. I guess I should say I am not complaining. I am so excited for all the sessions I have been having. I am thrilled that I have been able to expand my business. I love taking pictures and I love what I do!

I have been an editing machine and it's only going to get worse. This weekend I have scheduled three family sessions, a bridal session, and a child session. Add in family time, the famous Ute Stampede Rodeo, and a family reunion at Lagoon and you can see I am going to be overwhelmed again trying to catch up!

I am now starting to schedule sessions for August & September. Please e-mail me if you are interested in getting photos taken anytime during those months. My husband is going to be starting school again in August and so my time will be limited.

Thanks for all the support! I never imagined I would be THIS busy! It's been a dream and a dream I am happy to be living!

Almost done with this session...

Today is Monday and I am feeling like a million bucks! I am extremely tired but I am working through it! I have got SO MANY things accomplished today and I have to just keep telling myself to keep going! I worked last night (again) and I decided to stay up and clean my house, edit pictures, and organize my office.

Saturday I enjoyed photographing a well deserved family who won a photography session off Becky Higgin's blog! This family has three beautiful children and one of them is autistic. Being a nurse and a mother, I can understand how hard it is to raise children and I can only imagine how hard it would be to have an autistic child. I went home feeling so happy and so fulfilled. There's just something about a special needs child that melts my heart!

Look for those pictures hopefully tomorrow!

They're done! They're FINALLY DONE Kristy! Oh my goodness have I been editing pictures for HOURS today! I worked last night at the hospital, came home, found out I had a scorpion crawling around in my bathroom, went to sleep for two hours, woke up, and have been basically editing pictures ever since.

I think this family has officially waited the longest out of anyone to get their pictures! I said this weekend I would get caught up and I plan to do just that. Enjoy some more photos guys!

Last weekend I did another engagement session! Spring and Summer are always the hot season for weddings. Enjoy a few photos Jon & Megan...

Again, I can't believe how swamped I am with editing photos! I had a chance to edit these quick photos yesterday on my husband's laptop while we enjoyed spending one last day with Colby's brother before he leaves to serve the Lord. Yes, that's how far behind I am on editing. You know you're busy when you edit photos at a family party. Oh how I wish there was more time in a day.

Now it's off to Toy Story 3 with my three favorite boys to celebrate Trevin's 3rd birthday! That's a lot of "three's" in one sentence!

What I've Been Up to

This weekend was full of family pictures. My brother-in-law Jordan leaves to serve an LDS Mission in Africa next week and we decided we better get a family picture before he left. Thanks to my dad dancing behind the camera, a tripod, and a few little lies promising candy that I didn't have, we managed to get a fairly decent family picture...

(I realize it's a little hard to see but this is as big as I can load it on the blog)

I couldn't decide which edit I liked better of Colby's brother Josh and his cute family...

She was so willing to let me photograph her and I appreciate her allowing me to do this. I was completely excited for this day to come and I have only looked at this one photo so far! More to come. I had SO MUCH FUN with this couple! They are simply perfect for each other. Devin was so cute with Megan and couldn't take his eyes off her! Megan has the prettiest eyes and is beautiful! I promised them a quick preview...

A Day at the Beach

I don't usually share a lot of family photos on this blog but I wanted to show everyone that I really do have a life of my own. I really do take time for my family which is why sometimes my editing gets delayed...

Last Saturday we made a trip to the beach. It was a windy, cold day and not exactly perfect conditions but we had a fun day! Trevin loved running in the ocean and playing in the sand while Easton didn't think it was too exciting. After playing in the sand and water, the sun finally decided to show through the clouds.

Trevin didn't exactly make it out of the water before he fell and got smacked by a small wave on the left side of his face...

All of us (including the girls) enjoyed many volleyball games...

Wish I was still there...
Now back to editing photos and a few long nights working at the hospital.

Wow, what a crazy month I have had! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! I took these pictures at the end of May and am just getting around to finishing them! Still have a few more families to finish. Again, I am sorry for those of you who are waiting! I promise this weekend to finish them!

Just got back from a week long vacation in California. We went to Disneyland, an Angels game, and enjoyed the beach including a little family volleyball tournament! It was so much fun! Now it's time for a little reality check and back to the real world.

I am SUPER SWAMPED right now trying to edit pictures! I have four family sessions that need to be edited. For those of you who have had sessions and are waiting for your pictures, I am working on them every minute that I can. With two little boys, sometimes it's not always easy to find tons of time in a day to do that. I wish I had more time in a day, but sometimes family comes first! I am sure everyone understands....

Also, I have an additional weekend that I am coming to the Juab/Utah county area in June. If you are interested in getting pictures done, please contact me. I will only be scheduling two sessions in June. Also, I only have ONE spot available for July left. I am blessed to be doing what I love! Because I am so swamped with pictures and raising two boys, I am going to be going part time down here at the hospital in August! I couldn't be happier right now! Thanks again for all the support!

Meet the Shepherd Fam

I have not seen this cute family since I was in high school. I went to school with their youngest daughter and she is such a sweetheart. Her dad said, "Oh, I know Natalie" when I pulled up (or so his family said he did) which means it's been a while. I had the best time photographing their family even if I couldn't keep the two son-in-laws names straight! Sorry guys! :)

I am so excited she smiled....

This little guy wanted nothing to do with my camera other than shooting it....

....But he is still so cute! I was excited to see my son isn't the only three year old who doesn't like to smile for the camera!

A Boy with Energy

I realize this collage might be a little hard to see but I had to post it! I was editing pictures this morning and I just LOVED these pictures! This energetic three year old was a little hard to photograph (as all three year olds are) but I was able to capture him in his element. He loved to run and I was excited to see how good these pictures turned out. It was a random chance at some photos. My camera was not set and I wasn't expecting him to run right in front of me! Sami, I think you need all of these framed! So cute!

Let me just begin by saying, Who would have guessed there would be SNOW on the ground on MAY 24th? I almost died when I woke up Monday morning to a blanket of white on the ground. This family has the worst luck picking days for photos! Thankfully, the weather turned out to be awesome by that night and we were able to get some awesome pictures!

Dream World

So lately I have been changing my style up a little...

I have been in love with some fun edits and have tried to branch out from the "normal" edits...

I still edit all the images with a basic edit to give to my clients but I wanted to post some I like to think portray a Dream World appearance...

I just laugh when I see this next photo. The lady in the background isn't sure what to do about the situation and her face is priceless. Let me also explain we purposely let the chocolate blow in the wind. I didn't just stand there and take a picture and just ignore the mess...

I love how happy Sam's mom and brother are in this picture. I think they just thought I was crazy standing on the balcony...

While I captured my FAVORITE picture of the night...

I am seriously in love with the picture above. I had to climb a ladder in my big black boots, pray the floor of the balcony wasn't going to cave in, and figure out a way to get down after the picture was taken. They might have thought I was nuts, but I think it turned out so cute! I love the different angle approach! I wish I could explain just how many pictures I took at this wedding. Hundreds and Hundreds. I have been editing pictures after pictures and I still have a few more to go. It Happened. I photographed my FIRST wedding yesterday (besides my sister's wedding in March) and I couldn't be happier! I had so much fun spending time with Sam & Cole and their families. They were so great to work with! I even climbed up a ladder to get onto the balcony for an AWESOME shot I can't wait to show you!

First of all, can I just mention that the chair you see above was given to me by a friend at work. I refinished it and changed the fabric on it (all done yesterday before this session). I think it turned out AWESOME and is going to be used a lot!

This family was so much fun to photograph. Josie does my hair and does an awesome job! Her little girl is simply the cutest!

Dezie didn't want anything to do with my camera at first. After spending some time with her doll and giving her lots of kisses, she decided to smile for the camera for a few...

We even asked a nice old man in the orchard if he would stand behind me and make her smile!

I just LOVE these next few pictures of Kyle and Josie! I couldn't decide which ones I liked better so you get to see all of them!

We had plans to take some quick photos in an orchard full of blossoms, but as luck would have it, the blossoms fell off the tree the day before. We did our best and still decided to take a quick few photos. We are doing another bridal session on Monday.

A Family of Four

My life has been a little busy this last week, as I am sure you can imagine. My mom was kind enough to take our family picture before she left to go back to Nephi. Not the greatest picture of my 2 year old, but it's my new family of FOUR!

Welcome my little Easton

Easton Kent Park was born Thursday, March 25th at 10:56 am. He weighed 7 Pounds 2 Ounces and was 18.5 inches long. He was bright eyed when he was born and brought so much joy to our little family! Trevin just adores him and loves to help in any way he can.

Last night just before putting him down for bed, I hurried and took just a few pictures. I had been meaning to take pictures all day and never got around to it. They are not the best photos but I wanted to post some for you to see.

I will post more photos soon of Easton and Trevin together and some other photos.

Man, what a rough few weeks I have had. Seriously! I have been so stressed out with my personal life (awaiting the delivery of my second child) that I completely forgot to finish editing this session. I am happy to say I am completely organized now. Sorry guys!

After much debate, we traveled to Nephi to attend my little sister's wedding at the Manti Temple. We were nervous we were not going to make it due to my pregnancy, but I knew I had to go and risk having a baby on the way. My sister looked gorgeous and I couldn't be more happy for her and Tim!

I don't think I have ever laughed so much while taking pictures! This couple was so much fun and laughed a lot! Poor Cole had to put up with a lot from me, but I think it was worth it! Here's just a few photos to keep you on edge as to what's to come...

Another sun flare shot. Wow, these shots are hard to do (especially when you're 34 weeks pregnant and have to bend over to get the sunlight perfect)!

Let's just say this next place was a location we randomly found. I love old, crummy places! I think these two thought I was nuts making them pose at such weird locations. Doesn't Sam look so pretty in these pictures?

A New Look and Some Changes

As many of you know, I have been working VERY HARD at designing a custom website, logo, and creating a new look to my business. Starting in March, be prepared to see a lot of changes as well as giveaways.

My website is almost finished and I can't wait to show it to you! Please don't try to view it right now because it's not set up for public viewing (in case you noticed the URL on the image above). I cannot even begin to tell you how many hours I have spent working on it. I have also put together new gift cards, business cards, brochures, labels, stickers, and more! I have had lots of help and support from my awesome husband and family members.

It Came...

This day finally came...

I have been wanting a new camera for about six months now and I have tried time after time to convince myself that I could afford it. I have worked extra shifts at the hospital, scheduled extra photo sessions, and saved a lot of money to be able to finally feel like I could buy a new camera. I decided to sell my old camera and buy a new one. Today, it came!

Thanks to all of you who have supported me and have helped me achieve a dream I have had for SO LONG! Thanks for trusting me with your memories! I never really thought my little photography business would grow this fast, but if you could see the smile on my face, you would understand how happy it makes me!

P.S. Please disregard the PJ's...They are just so much more comfortable at 32 weeks than jeans. I did look nice earlier when I went out to dinner with my two favorite hunks! We celebrated Colby's birthday tonight since we couldn't go out yesterday!

Most people don't know but my sister really wanted to be a vet when she was young. She is a HUGE animal lover and always has been. We tried to get the horse to cooperate, but he didn't want to hold still for very long. She is still so beautiful even with her hair blowing out of place!

The last photo is seriously my favorite! Tim is a farmer and Hilary is soon to be the farmer's wife. We shot this photo on my uncle Mike's farm (who is one of my favorite people of all time) and it couldn't be any better! I just love it!

Knox {Newborn Photographer}

One of my best friends had this handsome little guy about two weeks ago. He was so good even while he was awake. It made me realize that in about two months I am going to have another little one to hold.

Her first child was one of my very first newborn sessions and I was so excited to take some pictures for her again! I have learned so much in the last two years. It's funny to go back and look at the pictures I took of her first boy. I am excited to see how my photo skills have improved.

My sister-in-law showed me how to make this awesome cocoon for him. I am so proud to say that I made this and it actually worked out!

I love this last picture! It took a lot of editing to edit out dad's leg, moms shirt, and part of mom's face but I think it turned out so good. I didn't plan it to be like this, but I am so excited I was able to include mom's hand as well as dad's hand. In some way all of them are included in the picture...

Thanks Cara & Jay for supporting my photography business from the start. You guys allowed me to practice on your little family from the beginning and as a photographer and I appreciate it so much. Thanks again! I hope you enjoy a little preview!

This weekend was filled with photo sessions! I have so many pictures to edit. I couldn't resist starting with my sister's bridal session...

I was jumping up and down when I saw this next image in my camera! I love sunflare shots, but they are so hard to capture without getting too much light in your lens! I really wish I could edit out the green sun flare by Hilary's flowers but I can't! I guess it just gives it that extra uniqueness! Do you love it as much as I do?

The last image had my mom and me laughing so hard we almost wet our pants! It's just a hint of what's next and what an adventure it was!

She's Engaged

Meet my beautiful little sister and her fiance Tim...

They are just the cutest couple and have so much fun together! On Monday I traveled up north to take some pictures of them. I wasn't so sure our photo session was going to happen due to the weather, contractions, and a sick little boy, but we decided to make the trip in hopes everything would work out.

This next picture was one of my favorite (among many that I still have not edited) and I liked both edits. Which one do you like better?

I still have tons (like 500) to look through and edit so I am sure you will be seeing more of these two! I can't believe my little sister is getting married! Crazy! I am so excited for her and Tim.

Can you believe it's 2010?

I can't believe how fast this last month has flown by! Between Christmas, work, and a wonderful trip to Mexico with my family I can't believe December is already over!

In aspect to my photography business, a new year brings changes, goals, and new adventures. I am almost ready to launch my new website! Stay tuned for more information. Please keep in mind that my prices may be increasing. I have not yet decided. So many decisions.

I have already booked some weddings and some sessions starting in February. If you are interested in Spring photos, please contact me soon. I am filling up fast and with a baby on the way, I am not sure how many sessions I will be doing.

my son just might sit still for ONE picture and let me capture that perfect picture I have in my head. Someday. But until then, this is what life looks like through my lens...

Even when he does cooperate, I will still love him the same as I always have. I will love him for being him. I will laugh at his wild moments and cherish the quiet ones. I count my blessings everyday to have such a special person in my life. He is my joy!

So I went to DI Yesterday and found this AWESOME chair for 8 bucks! Yep, you heard me right! Eight Dollars! I was on cloud nine!
Then, this happened...

I got to photograph this cute couple (with my awesome new chair) at one of my new favorite locations! I am in LOVE with how these photos turned out!

I worked last night and just BARELY got off work, but I couldn't resist coming home and spending a few minutes editing some photos for them!
